Building Substitute Teacher, Elementary School Maimonides Elementary School is looking for a full-time Building Substitute Teacher for the 2010-11 school year. Back to TopReading and Literacy Specialist, Elementary School The Reading and Literacy Specialist will be working with students in the early elementary grades who are experiencing difficulty in acquiring reading and writing skills. Using assessment tools and various models of intervention, the specialist will work with students in small groups and individually. The specialist will also work with classroom teachers to help them integrate strategies that support the growth of literacy skills into their instruction. Back to TopDirector of Institutional Advancement The newly created Director of Institutional Advancement will spearhead Maimonides School’s institutional advancement program—a unified, professional, strategic approach to our overall fundraising goals. This person will work to combine annual and capital giving with the introduction of planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, and creative use of the newest technologies to take our fundraising to the next level. Our Annual Campaign, which currently raises on the order of $1.5 million each year, consists of a gala dinner event and adbook campaign. This effort needs to continue to grow while at the same time be integrated with major gifts, funding for special projects, and an initiative to rebuild our endowment. This is an excellent opportunity to build a complete development program for one of the region’s most prestigious Jewish day schools. The Director of Institutional Advancement will be a member of Maimonides School’s senior administrative team reporting to the Executive Director. He/she will have the support of a dedicated Board of Directors, a small professional and administrative Development staff, lay leaders, and volunteer fundraisers rooted in a committed and involved parent community. For the 2010-11 school year, this position will cover one section of 8th and one of 9th graders, with plan to build our Arabic program in subsequent grades. Schedule: Monday 3-5 pm; Wednesday 2-5 pm; Thursday 3:55-4:40 pm, Friday 12:30-1:05 pm. Some teaching experience is required.
